Dr. Hassan Ali Mohamud, also known as Imam Hassan Jaamici, serves as the President and School Director of Dawah Academy. With a distinguished background, he is a professor who holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Fiqh and a Juris Doctor in American Law from William Mitchell College of Law, marking a historic achievement as the first Somali graduate in this field in Minnesota. He possesses over 20 years of experience in education administration, contributing significantly to the educational landscape. Imam Hassan Jaamici has dedicated his career to the intersection of Islamic and American law, teaching Comparative Islamic and American Law at William Mitchell College of Law and continuing his educational efforts at the Islamic University of Minnesota for over a decade. He chairs the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Dawah Institute and actively participates in community organizations, highlighting his commitment to community engagement and intercultural understanding. As the author of several comparative studies on Islamic law and its interplay with other legal and cultural frameworks, Dr. Mohamud's work fosters a deeper understanding of Islamic jurisprudence within contemporary society. Fluent in English, Arabic, Somali, and Italian, his lectures extend beyond academia, enriching community knowledge and fostering dialogue across cultures.
